Yaw Adom-Boateng

CHIEF MANAGER, UNDERWRITING

Mr. Adom-Boateng is the Chief Manager (Underwriting). He is an astute professional with superior competence in maximising business potentials. He qualified as an Associate Member of the Chartered Insurance Institute, (U.K.) in 2002. He also holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from the University of Western Sydney (CLC). 

His insurance career started in The Gambia where he worked with Great Alliance Insurance Company Ltd as Assistant Reinsurance Manager upon obtaining a Diploma in Insurance from the West African Insurance Institute (WAII) in 1998.

Mr. Adom-Boateng joined Star Assurance in April 2005 as Deputy Manager (Underwriting) with oversight responsibility for the Reinsurance Unit. Within a period of four years he was promoted to the position of Manager and then a Senior Manager, heading the Corporate Relations and Retail & SME Units. In 2009, he was promoted to the position of Chief Manager in charge of Technical Operations with the core responsibility of directing and leading the Technical Operations Team to achieve utmost client portfolio management and promoting harmonious working relationship among the Company’s Workgroups and Branch Offices towards achievement of overall operational targets and objectives. 

Mr. Adom-Boateng is a Chartered Insurer and elected a fellow of the U.K Chartered Insurance Institute (FCII) in 2007 and a visiting lecturer at the West African Insurance Institute (WAII), Gambia.
